THE FRANGIPANI STAFF
Long Masorn
Long Masorn from Frangipani
Masorn began working at Frangipani in 2002, and is one of the original members of our team. Born in Kampong Cham province, her life was struck with tragedy when her parents were killed by the Pol Pot regime as a child. As a result, she had very little opportunity to develop any skills. For many years she worked as a farmer and construction worker.

From her humble beginnings as a cleaner for Frangipani, Masorn was encouraged to undergo training in both bodywork therapies and English. Through this, she has gained experience and confidence, and has become one of our most treasured therapists.

“Since I began working at Frangipani, I have learned so many new things that have helped me to have a career. I get to meet people from all over the world, and this has really opened my mind. Frangipani even sends me to English school! I really think it’s the best job in the world, and I always feel like I am part of a family here. I would like to say a special thank you to all of our customers!”

Hong Chamroen
Youn Sok Jan from Frangipani
Joining us in July 2008, Chamroen is the latest addition to Frangipani’s therapist team. As our youngest member, Chamroen is under the wing of our senior therapists, who provide help and support for training and mentoring. Customers always love her smile as we always do!

“In the beginning I was not sure if I could be a massage therapist, but the whole team at Frangipani made me feel welcome. They take time to train me in professional techniques, and this is making me a more confident person. I want to say thank you to the frangipani team for encouraging and supporting me. I love my boss and my colleagues and I wish the frangipani is going to be the best spa in the world.”

Sok Khouch
Sok Khouch from Frangipani
Khouch joined Frangipani in 2005, at the age of 22. She was a construction worker before she joined the Terre Camboge family as a cleaner. When she heard of a position opening up at Frangipani, she jumped at the opportunity.

“Working at Frangipani makes me happy because I get the chance to experience a whole new world. So many things are different. I get to work with people from all over the world, and get the chance to learn English as a second language. This has made me more confident to communicate with foreigners. Before I would never think I could come to this point. I feel like I am a member of the Frangipani family. I never want to stop working at Frangipani.”

Khouch has wonderful strong hands and is one of our finest therapists.

Non Rattana
Non Rattana from Frangipani
Rattana now feels a world away from the clothing factory in Phnom Pehn where she worked for 6 years. She joined Frangipani in 2005, and has developed some outstanding therapy skills.

“Changing career and starting to work here made me learn new things and understand more. I have a new society and I can develop myself more. I can speak English with my guests — before coming here I had never spoken English at all. Now I’m still learning English but I understand it much better than before. The company helps me in many ways and they treat me like I am one of the family.”

Rattana has worked hard to improve her techniques through extra self-study – a dedication that we are proud of. Today, she is more confident with her work.

Hok Kim Houng
Hok Kim Houng from Frangipani
Kim Houng joined the Frangipani team in 2006, after five years working as a vegetable seller in the markets. She has built up many skills in a short time, and has wonderful, soft hands and a great rhythm.

“I was very happy to join Frangipani because it gives me a great chance to learn new skills, and I have more money to support my family. I meet a lot of people and I have a very good opportunity here. Every time I work, I try to concentrate and do my best.”

Customers always love Kim Houng.

Tuy Buntha
Tuy Buntha from Frangipani
Buntha joined Frangipani in 2007 after working as a spa therapist in one of Siem Reap’s hotels for six months. Although relatively new to therapy, Buntha learns very quickly, and has established herself as one of our best therapists.

“What I am gaining here is very different to the other places I used to work for. I am happy with my job and I have a good opportunity. I have learned so many new massage techniques and other secrets of good beauty therapy. The most important opportunity I have had is to be able to improve my English. This is so important if you want to work in the service industry.”

Sok Mom
Sok Mom from Frangipani
The younger sister of Khouch, Mom worked as a farmer during the wet season and a snack seller during the dry season for 4 years. Although only new, her Tropical Massage is the best!

“I would like to say thank you for giving me a chance to work here, including giving me good knowledge. I like this job and I like to serve people.”

Pheach Srey Roth
Chea Kun from Frangipani
Fresh from five years in a bakery, Srey Roth joined us at Frangipani in April 2008. She finished only Grade 2 in Cambodian primary school, as her parents could not afford the expenses. Although this meant her literacy skills were not high, she has proved to be an excellent student in massage, and is now on the path to being a highly skilled professional.

“I did not know how to speak English before. After working here, I can be able to speak some words of English. I want to say thank you to my colleagues and also my boss who always cheers me up.”

Khvan Soknea
Sok Khouch from Frangipani
Soknea joined Frangipani in October 2008 as a cleaner and cook. In her work, Soknea is a perfectionist, and we have to convince her to go home some days! We don’t know what we’d do without her dedication and hard work

“I am very happy to work in Frangipani. I love my boss and colleagues. They are very kind to me. The atmosphere here is a great one to work in, and my colleagues are like family. That made me comfortable to be here in the Frangipani home.”
